Extralink Chiron - gigabit switch with SFP+ ports
Extralink Chiron is a next-generation 24-port Layer 3 switch. It is aimed at IP MAN networks (metropolitan area network), government and corporate networks, and Internet cafes. It is developed on high-performance hardware and supports features such as high-performance ACL, flexible QinQ, 1:1 or N:1 VLAN switching, Ethernet OAM, carrier-level QoS and industry-level 10GE Ether-ring. It also supports Layer 3 routing protocol.
High reliability
Based on the advanced distribution mechanism and efficient cross-physical link aggregation function, the logic control plane, service control plane and service data plane are separated. This allows Extralink Chiron to support continuous Layer 3 routing redirection, avoiding interruption of service continuity due to a single failure.
Telecommunications level Ethernet switch
Chiron supports telecom-grade Ethernet protection protocol with protection shift time below 50 ms, STP/RSTP/MSTP, active and standby uplink backup, and LACP link aggregation to ensure high service reliability. Provides an excellent Ethernet OAM mechanism to monitor network health in real time for quickly locating and detecting problems. Supports In-Service Software Upgrade (ISSU) to ensure seamless data transfer during system updates. It supports support for various L2 multicast features, including IGMP-Snooping, fast-leave and trans-vlan.
Perfect security mechanisms
Advanced hardware infrastructure design implements level-based packet scheduling and packet protection, prevents DoS-/TCP attacks related to SYN flood, UDP flood, broadcast storm or heavy traffic, and supports level-based command line protection by giving different levels of users different permissions for management.
